It is important for everyone to stay informed on our individual and business actions that affect the environment above, below, and around us. Consider that the conditions on Earth can drastically transform our lives in turn. The recent fires in Hawaii provide the opportunity for all to prepare to keep our possessions partly safe, but realize that our mindset before and after crises is the main power that could get us through situations that are beyond our control.
High heat conditions are forcasted this week for mainly southern US states, while storms approach from regions beyond the US border.
Children, individuals with disabilities, and pets continue to need supervision for the summer to avoid overheating in cars; entering bodies of water such as pools and beaches; and staying balanced in using screen time, eating, and sleeping.

Health officials have sent alerts that COVID-19 levels are rising again in the US. Staying aware of crowded areas and taking healthy precautions concerning our hands and nasal passages are duties that we need to follow, even if we are tired of doing so.

With the drop in COVID-19 cases across nations, individuals have been bustling around the world. Some seek social experiences (vacations), learning options, or jobs. An arranged job search in New York in stable situations must include knowledge of the limited affordability of housing. This affordability gap is referred in www.coalitionforthehomeless.org/proven-solutions/
Expenses for housing and related factors have been affecting large numbers of NYC school-age children. These children drift through the shelter system as done prior to the pandemic. The 45,657 children in NY shelters in 2018 revealed 67.6% as school-age.
www.coalitionforthehomeless.org/state-of-the-homeless-2019/
At one point in 2017-2018 the number of NYC school-age children facing homelessness rose to 114,659.
Now that many new-comers who were directed to NY over the past year evidently face major changes, we could offer kind words or behaviors to a parent, single adult, or child who has seen too much. All humans need moments to stop, rest, reflect, plan, and make beneficial decisions for self and others. Throughout history, witnesses have reported children who drifted to find rest and safety, then found relief when powerful environmental conditions occurred. We can be a part of such unexplainable helper forces. If we are not in the mood or lack the time to support children, we must stay informed that we are creating a unified bubble with other persons who will also deny us rest and safety when needed.

On 6/23/23, NY City Council members, union leaders, health advocates, and City agency officials announced that New York had established the first health cost transparency system in the nation. They referred to the Office of Health Care Accountability that was created to reveal costs of health care across competing health facilities, prior to treatment. Transparency in billing is expected to allow individuals to compare costs such as medical procedures in order to minimize expenses. Unions such as 32BJ and DC37, along with City governmental officials agreed that the support that was received from the City Council will result in lower costs and improved economic conditions throughout NY. The rapper performer Fat Joe was congratulated for his ongoing efforts to protect NY families from high health care costs, due to his advocacy actions that helped to create the new system.

Concerning families traveling by air, on 5/8/23 President Biden presented upcoming rules for cutting costs. https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2023/05/08/remarks-by-president-biden-on-airline-accountability/
President Biden reminded American tax payers that they rescued the airline industry with $50b during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, so the industry was expected to offer services to ease travel challenges. The Department of Transportation has been establishing rules to protect passengers that go beyond the usual compensation of airline ticket offers whenever delays occur from actions of airlines. A new website FlightRights.com provides information to add to Fall 2022 plans. On the site, passengers could learn how airlines should provide compensation for delays they created, including rebooking a flight, offering hotel room, or meals. Additional new rules will include cash, miles, and travel vouchers. The rules are expected to become mandatory later 2023. Some airlines already started improving services by offering hotel room, meals, and such. Progress also includes airlines stopping fees for seating parents with their children. President Biden explained the need for Congress to pass the Junk Fee Prevention Act that would make families see the full costs prior to making transactions involving hotels, concerts, and credit cards.
